Snippies’ 2012 Giving Back Program

One of the best things about working at Snippies is the ongoing opportunity to educate clients about video. The differences between professional equipment and flip video cameras . The umpteen markets we cover. The efficiencies of time-coded feedback. In particular, it’s always great to discuss budgets and take clients by surprise with how reasonable we are. The typical client reaction to a Snippies estimate is something along the lines of, “That’s a lot less expensive than I was expecting!”

Nevertheless, for companies with severe financial constraints, quality video remains out of reach. And, usually, these are the organizations that could benefit from video the most – the nonprofits. That’s precisely why we’ve instituted a 2012 Giving Back Program. For this initiative, Snippies will create free profile videos for a select number of nonprofit organizations.

Our debut video for this program is for an organization that provides guidance, support and opportunities to girls through creative writing programs. Girls Write Now partners at risk and underserved girls from New York City public high schools with published women writers. The writers mentor the girls and assist them with developing their own unique voices and writing talents, helping them to build valuable communication skills and crucial self-esteem.

Girls Write Now has an extremely high success rate. While half of New York City’s youth fail to complete high school, 100% of GWN’s seniors graduate and move on to college, and many of them receive scholarships along the way. They are an exemplary organization and we are very proud to have worked with them on this video.

Check it out and let us know what you think! And, if you know of other deserving organizations that could use the helping hand of video, please do let us know!
